We are proud to have developed a multidisciplinary clinic, offering a variety of specialist and allied health services.

About Bendigo Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine

Our goal is to diagnose and resolve your sports medicine and musculoskeletal problems using a multi-disciplinary team-based approach. Being a regional centre, we understand many clients travel a considerable distance to visit us. We realise the difficulties this presents and recognise the importance of diagnosing and initiating your treatment on the day. Our clinic offers access to many specialist practitioners, available for inter referral. We have the full spectrum of diagnostic pathology and radiology services within a few minutes walk or drive from the clinic, at affiliated centres with network linked reporting. We aim to provide a caring initial assessment, prompt investigation turnaround and an early plan of treatment.

We welcome clients of all ages with various conditions including those presenting under WorkCover and TAC.

With Bendigo being the regional hub of Central Victoria, our catchment extends from the outskirts of Melbourne as far northwest as Mildura and Northeast to Echuca. Our practice is equipped with Teleconsultation facilities allowing remote review appointments for our more distant clients. Our multi-disciplinary approach favours early diagnostic intervention and treatment seeking to minimise the need for multiple attendances.

At Bendigo Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, we pride ourselves in providing a friendly and efficient service. Bendigo Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic (BOSM) realises the need for a co-ordinated, multidiscipline clinic catering to patients from the Central Victorian district with sport related injuries. For many years’ patients have been making the inconvenient trek to Melbourne to seek specialised Medical and Allied Health subspecialists regarding their sport related injuries. BOSM is now in its fifth year of operation is located at 176 Barnard Street Bendigo; opposite the QEO oval.  The clinic offers a broad spectrum of Medical and Allied Health services for patients presenting with sport related injuries. Our Specialist Medical practitioners cover Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery (upper and lower limb), General Surgery and Rheumatology.  Our Allied Health team include sports and chronic injury Physiotherapists, Hand therapists and Podiatry. BOSM has recently introduced a Rapid Access Pathway (RAP) with the intention of providing early assessment, investigation and treatment for patients with new injuries. Patients can be referred to the RAP clinic by their GP or self present without a referral and be seen by one of our primary assessment practitioners.  Patients will have their initial assessment performed by one of our Medical or Specialist Nurse Practitioners and appropriate investigations arranged. They are then referred on to whichever of the Medical or Allied Health practitioners will be best suited to manage their condition. Our close relationship with the imaging services in Bendigo allows us to provide most patients the same day imaging and a post-imaging review appointment to discuss the results and initiate treatment on the day of presentation. Our aim is to minimise the inconvenience of multiple visits and avoid the delays many patients experience awaiting a diagnosis and commencing treatment.  Patients can make an appointment by calling 03 5442 5288 or via fax on 03 5442 5399.
